Horace Tapscott

Horace Tapscott was one of the senior statesmen of improvised music. He had a very broad musical mind and loved a lot of bass happening in his band - wood, brass or otherwise. It would not be unusual for him to have three basses AND a tuba. His mother played the tuba. Perhaps that had something to do with it?
